Homemade Frozen Hash Browns

  • 8-12 starchy potatoes


  1. Bake potatoes in oven according to your favorite recipe

  2. Cool potatoes quickly and chill in the refrigerator several hours or overnight

  3. Grate potatoes on the coarse side of a box grater, discarding the peel

  4. You have three options for freezing. 1. Spread in a single layer on a cookie sheet with sides and flash freeze then package. Meaning freeze for about 30 minutes then place the potatoes in labeled freezer bags. 2. Measure serving sized portions of potatoes and flash freeze and package. 3. Place serving or recipe-sized amounts of hash browns in labeled freezer bags and freeze.

  5. Store in freezer until needed. Use as desired in place of store bought frozen hash browns
