  • 4 to 8 corn tortillas or tostada shells
  • 1 15 ounce can refried beans or homemade beans
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • Various amounts: lettuce , tomato, onions
  • 1/4 cup oil , for frying corn tortillas


  1. Heat oil in a small skillet. Cook corn tortillas until crispy if not using premade tostada shells.
  2. Heat refried beans and warm tostada shells if desired. Spread a layer of beans on shell and add desired toppings.
  3. The ones pictured above had beans, hot sauce, cheddar cheese, lettuce, onions, taco sauce, and sour cream in that order.
