This yellow squash and onion sauté is a quick and easy way to get your veggies.

Yellow Squash and Onion Sauté

  • 1 pound yellow squash , sliced in half moon shapes
  • 1 medium onion , sliced
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1 or 2 cloves garlic , minced
  • 1 Tablespoon olive oil or butter
  • To taste salt
  • To taste pepper


  1. Heat oil or butter in a skillet over medium high heat.
  2. Add the squash, onion, and garlic. Cook and stir for 10 minutes or until squash is as tender as desired and onions are slightly browned.
  3. Season with the basil, salt, and pepper.
  4. Serve immediately
