Oh, my goodness y’all. How is it the end of September already?!? This year has flown by. Thanksgiving and Christmas will be here before you know it.

I haven’t posted a menu plan since the last weekend of August. September was a bit crazy on the menu planning front and I did a whole bunch on the fly planning. Sometimes, at the grocery store which I totally do not recommend.

I’m switching grocery day from Friday for that very reason. It worked fabulously for awhile but there were some changes over the summer and it is now obvious that it’s not working any longer.

What’s On Our Table for Dinner:

I finally got a waffle iron a couple of weeks ago. That means I’ve been waffling all the things. We’ve discovered that we love grilled ham and cheese sandwiches made in the waffle iron. It also means that waffles will be a regular on the dinner table as well as at breakfast.

  • Pressure Cooker One Pot Spaghetti and Meatballs, garlic bread, and a veggie
  • Pressure Cooker Beef Stew and bread
  • Southwestern Pinto Bean Soup, quesadillas
  • Waffles, bacon or sausage, and apples
  • Smoked Sausage and Potato Hash and Country Style Green Beans
  • Slow Cooker Ham and Bean Soup
  • Leftovers

What’s On Our Table for Lunch:

We keep lunch pretty simple. I probably say that every week but it’s the truth.

  • Leftovers
  • Quesadillas
  • Sandwiches

What’s On Our Table for Breakfast:

I’m trying to up the breakfast game around here. I’m getting tired of toast most days so my plan is to stock the freezer with heat and eat breakfast items.

  • Baked Oatmeal. Most likely peanut butter and peanut butter chocolate chip. The kids love when I make this because they think they’re getting cookies for breakfast.
  • Waffles of course
  • Cinnamon rolls. I haven’t made homemade cinnamon rolls since Christmas 2015 so I would say it’s time.
  • Oatmeal. Not a make-ahead recipe but nothing beats a hot bowl of oatmeal for a nice hearty breakfast on a cool morning. I like mine with peanut butter and a bit of brown sugar.
