What’s On Our Table April 2018

A month’s worth of budget-friendly dinners in What’s On Our Table.

As you can see this isn’t the normal What’s On Our Table post. If you have read the blog since the beginning or at least since 2010 you know that I used to meal plan and shop monthly.

Things changed and that wasn’t working for us so I switched to every other week and then over the past year and a half it’s been weekly.

One weird thing I like to do is watch grocery hauls on YouTube. One day when I was searching for budget grocery hauls Pennies into Pearls popped up.

Brittany does monthly meal planning and shopping and it reminded me how much less we spent when that’s how we shopped.

So for April I decided to make a monthly menu instead of going week by week. I’m not shopping once a month yet but I hope that I can make the switch for June.

I’ll go a bit more into detail in May with exactly how I’m switching everything over.

Another thing that I will be doing is sharing my grocery hauls here on the blog. I had planned on doing that a couple of years ago but that summer was chaotic.

They will be a week behind from when I shopped. The haul post that will be live next Sunday will be the groceries I bought this weekend.

There is just no way I can get the groceries bought, photographed, post images made and the post itself written and edited in one day.

Other than the first seven meals and the grilled steak they aren’t assigned days yet.

Be sure to follow me on Instagram to see what I am cooking each week.
