Saving on Pantry Staples .::. Day 8 {31Days}

On day 6 we talked about how a well stocked pantry is a huge help in getting dinner on the table quickly. Today I am sharing some of the ways you can fill your pantry on the cheap.

Look for sales at drugstores.

Really. You can often find staples such as olive oil, oatmeal, and spices on sale at your local chain drug store. Every Saturday there is a round up of drugstore grocery deals at $5 Dinners. Erin even matches coupons for you so you can save even more.

After holiday clearance sales

Jessica from LifeasMom has touched on this subject a couple of times. Many times you can find things like flour, butter, and cake mixes at rock bottom prices after the fall and winter holidays. Butter and flour both freeze well so stock up  if you can.

Warehouse clubs

I buy all my yeast at Sam’s Club. I can get two pounds of yeast for not much more than three packets cost at the grocery store. It isn’t cost effective to pay $30 a year to save 3 or 4 dollars so if you don’t think you’ll use your membership often consider going when they have the open club days.
