One thing I’ve been working on lately is updating old post images and then republishing the posts. That’s a win/win situation for both you guys and for me. You get to see posts from years ago that you may have missed and all I need to do is edit images and tweak the post a bit instead of coming up with a whole new post.

A few weeks ago I updated Creamy Jalapeno Bacon Potato Salad which is my all-time favorite potato salad. This week I am bringing you a tasty and crazy easy pasta salad that was originally posted in July of 2009.

I kept the Parmesan Ranch Pasta Salad pretty simple to make mostly because it was something I kind of threw together with what I had on hand one day. A lot of my recipes start out this way.

  • 1 pound pasta ,short cuts such as penne or elbow macaroni work best
  • 3/4 to 1 cup Ranch dressing
  • 3/4 to 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 can whole black olives drained
  • 1/2 to 1 teaspoon salt
  • To taste black pepper

  1. Cook pasta according to package directions, drain and rinse in cold water.

  2. In a large bowl mix together Ranch dressing, mayonnaise, and Parmesan cheese.

  3.  Add the drained pasta, the olives salt, and pepper.

  4. Refrigerate several hours or overnight until chilled.

Recipe Notes

Variations: If you wanted to turn this into a main dish salad you could add chicken or ham for protein and veggies of your choice. I think onions, sweet peppers, and corn would taste great

Thank you so much for posting this recipe. I love pasta salad but was not sure how to make it. This sounds absolutely delicious. I just want to say I enjoy all your recipes. They are fabulous and easy to prepare.

  2. I love everything about this! I think I’d go with your suggestion to add chicken so I could eat a whole bowlful and call it lunch!
