Homemade Onion Soup Mix

Homemade Onion Soup Mix is made with easy to find spices and is a great alternative to the store-bought envelopes.

Homemade Onion Soup Mix

One thing I’ve started doing more and more is making my own spice and seasoning mixes. Especially for ones that I don’t normally use. This DIY onion soup mix is one of those recipes.

It is a lot easier for me to whip up a mix with seasonings I already have on hand than to have to make a last minute grocery store run. It’s also a lot easier to control sodium and keep out preservatives you may not want.

I keep almost every herb and spice in the recipe in my pantry at all times. The only one I had to go out and buy was the celery salt but I found that inexpensively and there are a couple of other recipes that call for it so it will get used.

I have been planning to share this recipe since I made the French Onion Pulled Chicken Sandwiches last year. As an aside go check that recipe out. Those babies are delicious. Since then any recipe I have made that uses an onion soup mix envelope I make this.
