Easy Smoked Sausage and Rice

Smoked sausage is one of my go to ingredients for night’s when  oh no it’s five pm and I have no idea what I’m cooking happens. Actually in my case it’s usually I forgot to take meat out of the freezer now what but the end result is the same.

This is a fabulous dish that will get supper on your table in 30 minutes. Serve with a green salad and another veggie and you’ve got a quick meal with minimal fuss.

Easy Smoked Sausage and Rice

  • 1 pound smoked sausage, sliced
  • 1 8 ounce box or bag yellow rice
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 1 bell pepper, diced
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • pinch of salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 Tablespoon butter

Cooking Directions

  1. Prepare rice according to package directions.
  2. Melt butter in a skillet over medium heat.
  3. Cook sausage, onions, peppers, and garlic over until sausage is browned and onions and peppers are softened. Season with salt and pepper.
  4. Fluff cooked rice with fork and add sausage and vegetable mixture,
  5. Stir to combine and serve.
