In my monthly menu plans, I’ve mentioned that Thursday is fakeout aka copycat recipe night. When I was looking for something new to try I found this recipe for Copycat Wendy’s Spicy Chicken Filet Sandwich on Fantastical Sharing of Recipes.

If I go to a fast food restaurant and a spicy chicken sandwich is on their menu I can almost guarantee that’s what I’m getting.

I am so glad I tried this recipe because the sandwiches were so tasty. The coating would also make fabulous chicken strips and nuggets.

Our sandwiches weren’t especially spicy because my cayenne pepper is pretty old and has lost most of its heat. You could easily decrease the amount and still have a flavorful sandwich perfect for less adventurous eaters.
