Cherry Lemonade

Change up borning lemonade with this fabulous cherry lemonade.

Cherry Lemonade is an easy and delicious spin on the traditional warm weather favorite.

Lemonade is my drink of choice this summer and while I like it, just plain old lemonade can be boring sometimes. I decided to try a flavored lemonade. Most of the flavored lemonades I found recipes for were for strawberry lemonade and I really didn’t feel like getting my blender out to puree strawberries.

Given my love of cherry Dr Peppers and my new fondness for Sonic’s Cherry Limeades I decided to try cherry lemonade. I was quite happy with the results and this will be something I serve year round.

  • 1 cup lemon juice
  • 3/4 to 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup juice from a jar of maraschino cherries
  • 6 cups water

  1. Combine lemon juice and sugar in a pitcher. Stir well to dissolve the sugar.
  2. Add in the maraschino cherry juice and stir to combine,
  3. Stir in the water.
  4. Refrigerate to chill.
  5. Serve over ice with maraschino cherries and slices of lemon if desired.
  6. Makes 2 quarts of lemonade.

Recipe Notes

I would start with the 3/4 cup sugar because the cherry juice is pretty sweet itself.
