Cajun Style Steaks


These Cajun Style Steaks are a great change from Swiss Steak. It is also perfect for a day when you are going to be busy because you take just a few minutes to assemble all the ingredients in the slow cooker and go on about your day.


Cajun Style Steaks


  • 1 pound boneless beef round steak 3/4-1” thickness, cut into serving size pieces
  • 1 medium onion, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons quick cooking tapioca
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons dried oregano, crushed
  • 3/4-1 teaspoon Cajun seasoning
  • 1 14 ounce can diced tomatoes, undrained
  • 1 8 ounce can of tomato sauce


Place onions in the bottom of a 2 or 4 quart slow cooker insert. Sprinkle with the tapioca, dried oregano and Cajun seasoning.  Pour tomatoes and tomato sauce over onions. Add the meat.

Cover and cook on low heat 8-10 hours or high for 4-5. Serve over brown rice.
