Do you want to make homemade ice cream but don’t have an ice cream maker? With this grape ice cream you don’t need one.
I was looking at one of my fellow food blogger and dear friend Tina’s blog Mommy’s Kitchen and saw a recipe for homemade Kool Aid ice cream. I was intrigued because I would have never thought to use Kool Aid to make ice cream.
I also knew that this would be a fabulous recipe for my niece and nephew to make. They are five and seven respectively and love to help in the kitchen. I measured everything out and let them mix it up. They weren’t too keen on the ten hour minimum freezing time but that’s life.
I was pleased with the way the grape ice cream turned out because it tastes like a creamy grape freezer pop. You could use other flavors of Kool Aid if you’d like. Tina used her family’s favorite flavors and we also made cherry to go along with the grape.
The ice cream is super easy to make. Just blend the ingredients in a bowl, place in a shallow freezer container, and then freeze. You’ll need to stir it a couple of times while it freezes but its mostly hands off . Those kinds of recipes are always winners in my book.
I’m hoping to bring you a few more ice cream recipes over the summer because I love homemade ice cream.
